Wells-Carey Elementary School is located at the intersections of Ninth and Timea streets. Built in 1924, extensive remodeling was done to help better equip our school to meet the instructional needs of the 21st century. Approximately, 155 first through fifth grade students receive quality instruction helping them to be prepared to be a part of a global society.
Wells-Carey is a three story building located in the heart of Keokuk. Most of our students are within walking distance of the school, and thus the school has a friendly neighborhood feel to it. Parents and friends of our school are encouraged to help as VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) where our number of minutes given by volunteers is the highest in the community.
P.R.I.D.E.--is the name of our program that stresses taking responsibility, caring about and working with others, and doing our best in all we do.
Wells-Carey is a school where parents, teachers, and staff work hand in hand to help all students achieve to their highest level.
