The most important thing to impress upon children is that we are all creative individuals and that the creative process should be fun and exciting and valued more than any finished products. Good quality, original art work will only come when students feel free and uninhibited and confident in their abilities.
Art is not always easy, rather it should be intellectually challenging, and all lessons should provide for individuality and various skill levels.
Students should learn to be critiques, consumers and historians of art as well as gaining experience as artists who create.
