MAKING THE GRADE - This session will
provide time for individual/small group tutoring and
homework focusing on each student's needs. During "MAKING
THE GRADE" students will learn to make homework time a daily
routine.
WORDS, WORDS, WORDS - Reading and
writing will be the source of new adventures for students in
an enviroment rich in language and print. creative writing,
project-based reading, and storytelling will increase
motivation along with self-confidence with
words.
GO FIGURE - Numbers will take on a
whole new meaning through engaging hands on activities and
games that enhance math skills and help communicate the
concepts of patterns, geometry, algebra, and measurements.
THE LIVING WORLD - Kids will learn
about the world around them through direct involvement in
such activities as gardening, building bird feeders, and
looking through mircoscopes. The curricula for this session
will be designed to promote discovery of the natural world
and its facets.
EINSTEINIANS - Students will be
introduced to thinking skills that they may already use, but
never really thought about. Activities will foster creative
and productive thinking, forshadowing, and association.
Students will practice thinking skills through games and
activities.
SMALL WORLD - The world will be
brought closer to students through engaging and diverse
social studies lessons. Opportunities to learn a foreign
language, cooking a foreign dish, take an imaginary trip, or
create a travel poster of a far off place.
